About Heart Strong Puppies
Heart Strong Puppies began as a small, hands-on family operation built around one simple belief: dogs deserve to be raised with care, structure, and respect. Since 1992, that belief has guided every decision we make, from how we select our breeding dogs to how we support families long after their puppy goes home.
Breeding is not something we approach casually. It requires patience, planning, and a willingness to put the dogs first at every stage. Over the years, experience has taught us that healthy puppies come from thoughtful choices, not shortcuts. That mindset continues to shape our program today.
How Our Program Has Evolved
Like many long-term breeders, our program has evolved naturally over time. We began with Siberian Huskies, which taught us the importance of structure, early training, and mental engagement. In 2013, our focus expanded to pugs and bulldogs, breeds that thrive on companionship and strong human connection. Later, we added mini bernedoodles after seeing how well their temperament, intelligence, and adaptability fit modern family life.
Each breed was added for a reason. We do not breed dogs simply because they are popular. We choose breeds that align with our values and that we believe we can raise responsibly and well.
What Responsible Breeding Means to Us
Responsible breeding is not just about producing puppies. It means understanding genetics, prioritizing temperament, and creating an environment where puppies can develop confidence from the start. All of our parent dogs are AKC registered and health cleared, and we carefully plan each pairing with long-term health and stability in mind.
Equally important is how puppies are raised. Early handling, consistency, and routine help puppies develop emotional balance. These early experiences matter, and they shape how a dog responds to the world long after puppyhood.
A Hands-On, Family Approach
Because we are a family-run program, our puppies are raised with daily human interaction and individual attention. We are involved in every stage, from birth through placement. This allows us to know our puppies well and to help guide families toward the right fit for their lifestyle.
We believe communication and honesty are just as important as breeding standards. Families are encouraged to ask questions and stay connected throughout the process.
Our Commitment Going Forward
Heart Strong Puppies is built on long-term relationships, not quick transactions. We are committed to continuing our program with integrity, transparency, and respect for the dogs we raise and the families who welcome them.
Choosing a breeder is an important decision. Our goal is to make sure families feel informed, supported, and confident from the first conversation to long after their puppy is home.
Testimonials & Reviews
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to work with families from all walks of life, many of whom stay in touch long after their puppy goes home. Their feedback reflects what matters most to us: healthy puppies, honest communication, and support that doesn’t end once a puppy leaves our care.
Families often tell us how smooth the process felt, especially for those bringing home a puppy for the first time. Clear expectations, consistent updates, and a willingness to answer questions help make the experience less overwhelming and more enjoyable.
We regularly hear from families about how well their puppies adjust to home life. Many mention confidence, strong bonding, and how quickly their puppy settles into routines. This feedback reinforces the importance of early handling, structure, and calm exposure during those first weeks.
Health and transparency are also common themes in reviews. Families appreciate knowing that parent dogs are health cleared and that puppies receive veterinary care before placement. For many, that peace of mind makes all the difference.
Perhaps most meaningful to us are the messages that come months or even years later, sharing milestones, photos, and updates. Those ongoing connections remind us why we do this and why responsible breeding is about long-term commitment, not quick outcomes.
We are grateful for the trust families place in Heart Strong Puppies and proud of the
relationships that continue well beyond pickup day.
