Available Pug Puppies for Sale

If you are searching for Pug puppies for sale, you are probably looking for more than an available puppy. You want to know that your puppy was raised responsibly, that the parents were carefully selected, that your puppy has received proper veterinary care, and that you are working with a breeder who will communicate openly throughout the process.

At Heart Strong Pups, we have been raising dogs since 1992. After more than three decades of experience with several breeds, Pugs became one of the breeds that truly won our hearts. We love their expressive personalities, affectionate nature, distinctive structure, and the way they become such an important part of their families.

Our goal is to raise healthy, happy, well-rounded Pug puppies from high-quality parents and give each puppy the strongest possible start in life.

An Experienced Pug Breeder in Ohio

Heart Strong Pups is an Ohio Pug breeder with more than 30 years of experience raising dogs. Our family has been breeding dogs since 1992, and over the years our program has grown and evolved through experience with several different breeds. Learn more about our family and the history behind Heart Strong Pups.

That experience has taught us that responsible breeding requires much more than producing puppies. It means understanding the characteristics of each breed, selecting breeding dogs carefully, paying attention to health and temperament, and providing puppies with the right foundation during their earliest weeks of life.

Pugs eventually became one of the breeds that truly captured our hearts. Their expressive personalities, affectionate nature, distinctive structure, and incredible ability to bond with their people made us appreciate just how special this little breed can be.

Today, we focus our attention on Pugs and English Bulldogs. We made that decision because concentrating on fewer breeds allows us to put more of our experience, time, and attention into the dogs we believe in and the puppies we raise.

Our Pug puppies are raised at our Ohio location in a state-inspected nursery designed around cleanliness, comfort, health, and development. We are a hands-on, family-run program, and we believe that the quality of a puppy’s beginning can have a lasting influence on the companion that puppy becomes.

Why We Chose to Focus on Pugs

After breeding dogs since 1992 and gaining experience with several different breeds, we learned that every breed has its own qualities, challenges, and responsibilities. Over time, Pugs and English Bulldogs stood out to us in a very special way.

We simply fell in love with them.

Pugs have an unmistakable personality. They are affectionate, entertaining, expressive, and deeply connected to their families. There is something special about the way a Pug wants to be involved in everyday life, whether that means following you around the house, curling up beside you, or finding a way to make everyone laugh.

We also appreciate the unique structure and character of the breed. Pugs are not simply small dogs with a recognizable face. Their structure, movement, temperament, and overall balance are all important parts of what makes a quality Pug.

As our appreciation for the breed grew, we made the decision to focus our attention on Pugs and English Bulldogs rather than continuing to maintain a broad breeding program.

That focus allows us to be more intentional about the dogs we choose as parents, the pairings we plan, and the puppies we raise. We can devote more time to understanding our breeding dogs, evaluating each litter, and providing the individual care puppies need during their earliest stages of development.

Our goal is not simply to produce Pug puppies. Our goal is to produce healthy, happy, well-rounded Pugs from high-quality parents and give each puppy the foundation it deserves.

Why Families Choose Our Pug Puppies

Families choose Heart Strong Pups because they want more than a puppy. They want to know where their puppy came from, how it was raised, and who they are working with throughout the process.

Our experience since 1992 gives us a long perspective on breeding and puppy development. We understand that responsible breeding begins before a litter is born and continues throughout the puppy’s development and placement.

We carefully consider the dogs we use in our breeding program, looking at health, temperament, structure, soundness, and overall quality rather than focusing on appearance alone.

Once puppies arrive, we provide daily care and human interaction in a clean, structured environment. Puppies are gently handled and gradually introduced to normal household activity and age-appropriate experiences. These early experiences are intended to help puppies become comfortable with people, develop confidence, and transition more easily into their new homes.

Pugs are naturally social companion dogs, and we love seeing their personalities develop as they grow. Every puppy is an individual, and we take the time to observe each puppy rather than treating every litter or puppy exactly the same.

We also believe families deserve clear communication. We encourage questions, provide information about each puppy, and remain available as families prepare to bring their new companion home.

For us, responsible breeding is not about how many puppies we can produce. It is about doing a better job with every puppy we raise.

Our Approach to Breeding Pugs

We believe our responsible Pug breeding starts with choosing the right parents.

After more than three decades of breeding dogs, we have learned that producing a quality puppy requires thoughtful planning and attention to many different characteristics. A beautiful dog is not enough by itself. Health, temperament, structure, soundness, lineage, and overall wellness all matter.

When evaluating dogs for our breeding program, we consider how those qualities work together. Our goal is to make thoughtful pairings that support the qualities we value in the Pug while maintaining a strong focus on the health and well-being of the dogs involved.

We also believe temperament matters tremendously in a companion breed. Pugs are meant to be part of the family, so we value dogs with friendly, affectionate, stable personalities.

Our breeding decisions are made with the long term in mind. The goal is not simply to produce puppies that look appealing when they are young, but to give them the best possible foundation for becoming healthy, well-adjusted family companions.

Breeding is a long-term responsibility. Decisions made when selecting parents can influence an entire litter, which is why we take those decisions seriously.

Our goal with every litter is to raise Pug puppies from high-quality parents and provide them with the care, attention, and early experiences they need to become wonderful family companions.

Pug Health & Veterinary Care

The health and well-being of our Pugs and puppies is one of the most important responsibilities we have as breeders.

Our parent dogs are health cleared, and health, soundness, temperament, and overall wellness are important considerations when selecting dogs for our breeding program. We believe responsible breeding starts with making thoughtful decisions about the dogs that produce each litter.

Every puppy receives a full veterinary health examination before joining its new family. Puppies also receive age-appropriate veterinary care, including vaccinations and deworming, and families receive the applicable health records and information associated with their puppy.

We provide a one-year health guarantee covering significant congenital or hereditary conditions. We encourage families to review the guarantee carefully and ask questions before reserving a puppy so that everyone understands the terms and coverage.

We also encourage prospective families to learn about the parents of the puppy they are considering. A puppy’s health story begins long before that puppy is born, which is why parent selection and responsible breeding are such important parts of our program.

Our approach to health is not simply about what happens at the veterinary examination before a puppy goes home. It begins with breeding decisions and continues through nutrition, cleanliness, early development, veterinary care, socialization, and responsible placement.

How We Raise Our Pug Puppies

The first weeks of a puppy’s life are an important period of physical, emotional, and social development. We take that responsibility seriously.

Our Pug puppies receive daily handling, human interaction, and individual attention from an early age. They are raised in a calm, structured environment where cleanliness, comfort, and appropriate socialization are priorities.

Our nursery is state inspected and designed with the health and development of young puppies in mind. We use antimicrobial materials, professional airflow systems, and dehumidifiers as part of our approach to maintaining a clean and carefully controlled environment.

As puppies develop, they are gradually introduced to normal household sounds, people, handling, routines, and age-appropriate experiences. We want these experiences to be positive and appropriate for each puppy’s stage of development.

Before going home, puppies are also introduced to age-appropriate structure and routines. This can include beginning potty routines, learning to settle and rest quietly, and becoming comfortable with gentle handling of their paws, ears, and body.

These early foundations can make future training easier and help puppies feel more secure as they grow.

We don’t believe puppies should be rushed. Rest, bonding, exploration, nutrition, cleanliness, and human interaction all have an important place in early development.

Our goal is to give every Pug puppy a strong foundation before it leaves our care and begins the next chapter with its new family.

Choosing the Right Pug Puppy for Your Family

Every Pug puppy has its own personality, and we encourage families to look beyond color, markings, or appearance when deciding which puppy is right for them.

Temperament, interaction, development, and the individual characteristics of the puppy all matter. Healthy puppies should generally be curious about their surroundings, comfortable with gentle human interaction, and developing appropriately for their age.

We also encourage families to learn about the puppy’s parents and the breeder’s overall program. A puppy is the result of decisions made long before that puppy is born, so understanding the parents, health care, breeding practices, and early environment can provide valuable insight.

When you are considering one of our Pug puppies, we are happy to answer questions and provide additional information about the individual puppy. Our goal isn’t simply to place the next available puppy. We want to help families find a Pug that is a good fit for their home and lifestyle.

What Comes With Your Pug Puppy

When your Pug puppy is ready to join your family, we want you to feel prepared for the transition.

Every puppy receives a veterinary health examination before going home, along with age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming. Families receive the applicable health records and information needed to continue providing appropriate care after their puppy arrives home.

Your puppy also comes with our one-year health guarantee covering significant congenital or hereditary conditions. We encourage families to review the guarantee and ask any questions they may have before completing their purchase.

We also communicate with families about the transition home and can provide information about your puppy’s routine, feeding, and other care considerations.

Preparing for your puppy before arrival is important. We recommend having appropriate puppy food, a safe and comfortable sleeping area, basic supplies, and a plan for establishing a consistent routine. We also recommend scheduling a veterinary visit after your puppy comes home so your veterinarian can establish an ongoing care plan.

Our relationship with a family does not need to end when a puppy leaves our nursery. We value the updates, photographs, questions, and connections that continue after our puppies become part of their new families.

How to Reserve Your Pug Puppy

Once you find a Pug puppy that feels like the right fit for your family, the next step is to reserve your puppy.

A $500 deposit is required to reserve an available puppy. The remaining balance is due one week before delivery or at the time of pickup.

Before placing a deposit, we encourage you to contact us with any questions about the puppy, availability, health information, pickup, or delivery. We want families to have the information they need before making their decision.

We believe choosing a puppy should be exciting, but it should never feel rushed or pressured. Clear communication is important to us from the first conversation through the day your Pug comes home.

Bringing Your Pug Puppy Home

Families are welcome to pick up their Pug puppy in person at our Ohio location by appointment.

If you are unable to travel to Ohio, we also offer nationwide puppy delivery for families throughout the United States. We can also arrange a video appointment if you would like to meet us and learn more about your puppy before making the trip or arranging delivery.

Whether you pick up your Pug in Ohio or have your puppy delivered, we communicate with you throughout the process so you know what to expect.

We want the transition from our care to your family to be as comfortable and organized as possible.

Once your puppy arrives home, establishing a consistent routine, providing a comfortable environment, and following your veterinarian’s recommendations can help your puppy settle in successfully.

For additional guidance, see our Puppy Care Guide.

Meet the Parents of Our Pug Puppies

The parents behind each litter are an important part of our breeding program.

We carefully select our breeding dogs with consideration for health, temperament, structure, soundness, and overall quality. We believe families should have the opportunity to learn about the dogs behind their puppy and understand why those dogs were selected for our program.

When viewing an individual Pug puppy, you can learn more about the puppy’s parents and their role in our breeding program. Looking at the parents provides families with additional insight into the foundation behind their puppy rather than judging a puppy on appearance alone.

We encourage families to ask questions about the parents, their health information, temperament, structure, and other qualities that may be relevant when choosing a puppy.

For us, every litter represents a carefully considered pairing and another opportunity to raise Pug puppies that can become healthy, affectionate members of their families.
